LOST

WOW. I’m not usually one to get addicted to a TV show, but ever since I started watching LOST (on ABC) this past season - I’ve been hooked. I hate that I started watching the show in its third season, but I am glad that seasons 1 and 2 have been released on DVD so I can at least catch up now. So far I’ve worked my way through season 1 and just started on 2. I could burn up a whole week of vacation just sitting on the couch watching this if I let myself. What’s really going to stink is when the next season starts and I have to wait a week between episodes instead of having whole seasons at my fingertips.

I’ve also been watching HEROS, that show on Monday nights about all the people with special powers. You might have seen the commercial or heard the catch phrase from the show - “Save the cheerleader. Save the world.” The show hasn’t sucked me in like LOST, but it’s a nice change from the stuff I usually watch.

I was a big FRIENDS fan back when it was on. I do have all the episodes of that show in my DVD collection. I go back and watch some of my favorite episodes from time to time. One of my favorites was when Ross went wild with the tooth whitening stuff and had the glow in the dark teeth.

Dusting off the cobwebs…

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone first and foremost! I know it’s been ages since I’ve posted but life got in the way and my blogging time was the first to get “downsized”. I have plans to get back to a more regular posting schedule soon though.

I’ve been doing lots with my camera lately. One thing I’ve been working with a little is some new lighting techniques incorporating a small softbox the works with my speedlite. It’s much more handy than toting around the BIG lights with me for most kinds of location portraiture. The big lights have their place but I rely on them a little less now.

I’m about to head over to my sister’s place with my folks. They flew in Tuesday evening from the other side of the world. Luckily, there was only one snafu on the trip and that was in Detroit when they missed their connecting flight to Alabama because the flight they were on from Japan was delayed. When they did arrive in Detroit, they only had 15 minutes to make their connection. If you’ve ever flown on a 747 and been in a huge airport, you know that you can’t even GET OFF a plane that big for about 15-20 minutes let alone make it to another gate in the time they had.

I remember one time I was in Dallas and missed my flight home. Even though Delta put me up in a hotel, it still sucked.  Since then, I’ve always tried to be sure any flights I’m on aren’t the last ones going to my destination for the day. So far so good.
