Granger Community Church

The Atrium at GrangerThe church leadership conference I attended in Indiana was a great way to get a glimpse of how a church that “gets it” operates. I had no idea what to expect, but some of my friends that went last year for a different conference were raving about the people and the facility there. I found out it was for good reason. When we arrived early Thursday morning (after driving seemingly all day the previous day), we were greeted by lines of “cheerleaders” high-fiving us and welcoming our church by name. I stepped into the welcome area which used to be the old auditorium. It has since been converted into a common space with a coffee shop and a seating area. I’m told they also use this space for weddings. The railing you see is removable for this use.

Despite the really nice entry area, what blew me away was the main auditorium. Whoa momma. Everything here was first-class. As Kevin put it as we were touring the building and looking at stuff like signage, wall-trim, etc. “nothing is crap here.” Also, it would be a waste to have all this if the people weren’t up to the task at hand but as you can imagine, they were. Everyone I met there was great. Super nice and friendly. Well, except for the woman that busted me for trying to get a second pork chop at lunch one day - that’s another story though.

The music was - fantastic. The musicians were great, the sound pro-quality, the video top notch. I really enjoyed seeing everything working together as a whole. I learned a lot while I was there. It was time well spent.

Hmmm… I’m not exactly sure why the comment feature was acting up the other day. There’s some stuff written about it in the WP support forums but no concrete solution.
